The TxANA Regional Anesthesia Ultrasound Lab is an immersive, hands- on educational experience designed to enhance participants' knowledge and technical proficiency in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia. Using a rotating station format, participants will develop foundational and advanced ultrasound skills through live scanning, anatomy identification, needing techniques, and simulated block performance under the guidance of experienced regional anesthesia instructors. Through focused instruction, deliberate practice, and case-based discussions, learners will integrate ultrasound principles with clinical decision-making to improve the safety, accuracy, and effectiveness of peripheral nerve blocks. Participants will leave with increased confidence in ultrasound image acquisition, recognition of sonoanatomy, needle visualization, and the application of regional anesthesia techniques across a variety of clinical scenarios.
A one hour update from AANA President on what the AANA has been focused on in the last year to stay CRNA Focused and CRNA Inspired followed by 30 minutes exploring workforce trends and the future of the CRNA profession.
The TXANA Airway Rodeo is an immersive, small-group learning experience designed to strengthen advanced airway management skills through interactive simulation, hands-on practice, and clinical decision-making. Using a rotating station format, participants engage in realistic airway scenarios that integrate ultrasound, advanced oxygenation strategies, video laryngoscopy, flexible intubation, and emergency surgical airway techniques. Through brief clinical scenarios, focused skills practice, and expert-facilitated debriefing, learners apply evidence-based principles to complex airway challenges they may encounter in practice. The goal is for participants to leave with increased confidence in identifying the cricothyroid membrane using ultrasound, optimizing oxygenation with high-flow nasal therapy, performing advanced intubation techniques and executing emergency cricothyrotomy using airway models.
